Vinyl: VG
Cleaned and fully play-tested. The record has visible surface wear consistent with a conservative VG grade. Minor background noise is present, but playback was very pleasant overall and sounded good. No skips or repeats were reported.
Jacket: Visible age and storage wear should be described exactly as shown in the photographs. The final sleeve grade has not yet been recorded, so I would not invent one. Use VG only when there are no seam splits, writing, water damage, or major paper loss.
Description
A vintage 1974 U.S. pressing of Elton John’s first Greatest Hits collection, manufactured at MCA’s Gloversville pressing plant.
The album gathers ten enduring Elton John and Bernie Taupin songs, including “Your Song,” “Daniel,” “Rocket Man,” “Bennie and the Jets,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” and “Crocodile Rock.” The U.S. MCA edition contains “Bennie and the Jets” as the second song on Side Two.
This is an honest vintage playback copy rather than a pristine archival record. The vinyl shows normal surface and handling wear consistent with its VG grade. It was cleaned and played completely before listing. Minor background noise was audible, but the record played very nicely overall, sounded good, and completed without skips or repeating grooves.
Play-tested in full on a mechanically isolated Sony automatic turntable fitted with an Audio-Technica diamond stylus, through a Polk Audio MagniFi Max surround system with wireless subwoofer and rear speakers.
The exact record and jacket pictured are included. The vinyl will be placed in a protective inner sleeve and shipped outside the jacket to reduce the risk of seam splitting.
