Welcome to Panel & Groove

Comic books and music have been lifelong passions of mine—interests I shared with my late father, who introduced me to both in the first place.

He bought me random issues of Batman and Spider-Man during our time together. I remember collecting the Crisis on Infinite Earths maxiseries with him and being amazed to see so many heroes and villains brought together in one epic story. At seven years old, it completely blew my mind.

He also bought me Batman: A Death in the Family. We experienced that story of tragedy together, only for me to lose him two short years later. That book still sits on my shelf today—a piece of my father that I will always cherish, and a story that helped teach me about loss and grief in its own way.

His love for The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and other bands of that era rubbed off on me as well. The albums he bought when he was young now sit proudly in my own collection, carrying those memories forward every time I put one on.

Those stories and songs shaped my childhood and created a lasting connection to my dad. Today, they are passions I share with my eight-year-old son, already an avid Beatles fan and a lover of Spider-Man and Batman, just like his old man.

My goal with Panel & Groove is to share my passion—and parts of my collection—with other people who appreciate comics and music as much as my family has.

These two mediums have brought my family together countless times over the years, whether we were discussing a story we loved, listening to an album for the first time, or revisiting an old favorite. Many of the memories from my life are intertwined with comics and music, and they have given us countless hours of enjoyment.
