Vinyl: VG — plays above visual grade

Cleaned and fully play-tested. Playback was very good, with very little popping, only faint background noise, and no skips or repeating grooves noted. Despite normal visible signs of age/use, this is a genuinely enjoyable player copy.

Jacket is vintage and should be judged from the listing photographs for exact cosmetic condition.

Description

A classic original-era U.S. mono pressing of The Beatles — Rubber Soul, released by Capitol Records in 1965 under catalog number T 2442.

This copy was pressed at Capitol Records’ Scranton, Pennsylvania plant, identified by the distinctive IAM triangle stamp in the deadwax.

The early label configuration matches the original 1965 U.S. mono issue family. Scranton copies of T 2442 are documented with the IAM plant mark and comparable F/G lacquer matrices.

Most importantly, this copy has been play-tested from beginning to end. It sounds considerably better than the visual VG grade might suggest: very little popping, faint background noise, and an overall warm, enjoyable presentation.

The U.S. Capitol version of Rubber Soul also differs from the contemporary UK album configuration, making original American mono copies a distinct collectible Beatles release rather than simply another pressing of the same track sequence.
